If it's December 1941 in Casablanca, what time is it in New York?
While it was fresh in my mind I decided to doodle up this little homage to the 1942 classic, Casablanca, and one of Hollywood's greatest actors ever, Humphrey Bogart. I know that a film like this is sort of out of my age bracket but I enjoy all good movies from any time period, big movie buff.. and Casablanca is one of the most powerful movies from its era.. or ever for that matter. Beyond that there is just a mystique about the classics that you don't get in the modern movies.. whether it be the style of acting, level of drama.. or just the qualities of a film shot in black and white that you don't see in something that is Technicolor-ed.
Smoking was a big thing in movies back then, and sure enough Mr. Bogart (who runs a bar in the movie) did his fare share.. Incorporating the signature movie tactic for intensity in the 40's and 50's I gave it some modern flare.. letting the lit puff stick bring some color, albeit a little into the picture to intensify the look.
Hope this is something that everyone finds pleasurable to the eye, tried to make it as gritty and yet as smooth as possible.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis picture really touched my heart, and I don't see many pictures that do that...it reminded me of variety of shows that my grandfather would watch when I was younger, and I would watch them with him. I couldn't believe how much of the twenties era I have seen in this.
When I first saw this, I knew it was not the same Bowie that drew this from when I first started watching you, because you grew into something beautiful. I can tell with the highlights and blending in this picture that you did. Even the shadows are magnificent in this, reminds me of the oil paint that I would experiment with in my art class and splatter on myself xD; However, I see tremendous growth in this picture...I see a boy's journey of being an artist, too. I always liked looking at how other people grew from their other pictures.
Everything: 5/5 - I was wow'd by everything this picture had to offer. I believe it was very original to do this, even if it was based off of Sonic the Hedgehog.
