COLORED: On Good Terms..

Sonic: So... Scourge, lose your crown? Decided to turn over a new leaf?

Scourge: You'd love that wouldn't ya. Sorry Sonic, just on vacation. Even rulers of the world need a break.

First off, this was drawn on poster board so I had to upload it in two halfs to get it up tonight, by tomorrow I should have a cleaner reduced scan to put up.

The scene depicts a 50's like restaurant/bar chat confrontation between fan favorite hero, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the popular new villain, Scourge the Hedgehog (also known as Anti-Sonic). For good reason neither is really feeling the heat from the others presence, they are pretty much equal in every way outside of alignment. I tried to do a couple relaxed poses with some decent expressions at the least with some non "super hair sprayed" quills. At least I believe I got that much down.

This is my first time drawing any Sonic character in a more 3D way (up until this point I have drawn Sonic with 3 quills, much like his original rendition) and while I had some early troubles I eventually got used to the more depthy and flowing quill style and I believe it felt even more natural than the other way, I call it my best drawing of Sonic yet, and since it is my first time doing Scourge it would be my best for him too at this time.

Just to sum up the scene..

"Sorry Blue, I'll be back to serve ya next Tuesday."

12/09/08- I took free time today to color it (looks a lot better in reality than the craptastic scan but oh well.) I believe it looks way better with color and I enhanced intensity with some slight CS2 meddling, just not enough to warrant it being called a "digital" piece over a "traditional" one.
